5 Ways Mental Resilience will Benefit Your Business

The importance of mental resilience strategies for business owners, entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs has never been so relevant in a post COVID-19 world.

While governments globally are busy building strategies to reduce unemployment and reignite the small business sector, here are five simple and effective ways to build mental resilience that will ultimately benefit you and your business.

1. Become Emotionally Intelligent.

Yes, Emotional Intelligence (EQ) is a science and can be learned and constantly practiced every day. EQ deals with the person’s ability to manage their own emotions and behaviours while at the same time putting themselves in others shoes. Higher levels of EQ help build rapport amongst each other so that we can work and communicate more effectively.

2. Practising Mindfulness.

Our mind reflects how our brain is wired and, which ultimately determines how we see and view the world, including each other. Mindfulness is the awareness of our thoughts and the present moment. By understanding how our thoughts affect our feelings and ultimately our behaviour in our personal lives and business lives, we can make slowly change our thought patterns to reduce anxiety and stress.

3. Focus on Gratitude

According to Neuroscience Expert and best-selling author Dr. Joe Dispenza, “Gratitude is the ultimate state of receivership”. Where you focus, is where your attention goes so when we focus on Gratitude, our focus is zoned in on positive emotions and outcomes. And the more we do it, the more we act in a state of joy and love, which in a business environment creates better communication and outcomes.

4. Move your body!

Many business owners and their teams are literally stuck at their desks, especially since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic where working from home has become commonplace. High levels of stress, anxiety is directly related to low energy. A brisk 15 minute walk a day helps in the reduction of anxiety and depression and boosts creativity.

5. Master the skill of Goal Achievement

While Goal Setting can be easy process to learn and do, not many business owners achieve their goals. Business goals cannot be realised without a deep understanding of the goal achievement process. The Goal Achievement process is primarily subconscious and is based on one’s mindset. Entrepreneur and world class coach Tony Robbins says that success is achieved through a plan that is 80% psychological and 20% Strategic. Goal Achievement reflects that 80% part.
