BREED Australia is proud to partner with the Putland Education and Training Unit at Cobham Youth Justice Centre in Werrington, Western Sydney, to bring our Youth Entrepreneur Program to young people navigating the challenges of the justice system. Our program is designed for young individuals aged 15-21, helping them unlock new opportunities and develop the skills needed to envision a brighter future.
Supporting Growth and Resilience for Young People
The Youth Entrepreneur Program at Cobham Youth Justice Centre focuses on key areas essential to personal and professional growth. By combining resilience-building, emotional intelligence training, and foundational business skills, we’re equipping young people with tools to rediscover their potential and make strides toward a positive future. Our goal is to inspire each participant to explore new paths, foster a sense of self-worth, and create a vision for their life beyond their current circumstances.
Working Together with Putland Education and Training Unit
The Putland Education and Training Unit (ETU) at Cobham Youth Justice Centre provides a range of educational programs specifically tailored to the unique needs of its students, who are often enrolled for shorter periods. With a strong emphasis on student welfare, Putland ETU creates an integrated and supportive learning environment that helps students build confidence and develop critical life skills. Through our partnership, BREED Australia is able to complement Putland ETU’s offerings, adding specialised training in entrepreneurship and life skills for long-lasting impact.
Our Focus Areas: Building Skills for Life and Work
The Youth Entrepreneur Program includes:
- Resilience Building: Helping young people learn how to handle setbacks, build self-confidence, and develop a positive mindset.
- Emotional Intelligence Training: Teaching essential skills for self-awareness, empathy, and relationship building, which are critical for both personal and professional success.
- Business Skills Development: Introducing participants to entrepreneurship and key business concepts, from managing finances to exploring ideas for small business opportunities.
These focus areas are not only aimed at supporting employment opportunities but also at fostering independence and self-belief. We believe that with the right support, these young individuals can make choices that open doors to a better future.
