This program is your launchpad into meaningful careers in non-traditional trade roles through tailored training, real-world experience, and one-on-one support that prepares you for success in today’s competitive workforce and helps you create a future filled with opportunity.

Mixed Delivery: Online mentoring, in-person support, and accredited training.

TradeReady has been designed with a focus on:

Culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) women and their
female family members (daughters, mothers, role models) who are…

  • Women with transferrable skills, such as existing apprentices who need support to achieve their goals
  • Women with limited skills or experience, ready to kickstart their career into trade pathways

However, we are inclusive of all women facing persistent barriers
to completing or obtaining trade training and employment
and who are ready to take the next step, including:

  • Women in contact with the criminal justice system
  • Women living in regional and rural areas
  • Young women aged 17–24
  • Women who are carers

What You’ll Learn in the Trade Ready Program

The Trade Ready Program equips you with the personal and professional skills to succeed in work and in life. Through BREED’s Learning for Good modules, you’ll strengthen the mindset, confidence, and resilience needed to thrive in today’s workplace.

Our Learning for Good Modules

🌱 Resilience & Well-being (2 hours)
Build the skills to stay motivated and maintain well-being in demanding work environments. Learn practical strategies to manage stress, adapt to challenges, and recover quickly, supported by daily routines that strengthen long-term health and overall performance.

🧠 Emotional Intelligence (2 hours)
Strengthen your ability to understand yourself and others. By building emotional awareness, teamwork, and communication skills, you’ll work more effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and clients, while also learning to manage conflict calmly and respond constructively to feedback.

🎯 Goal Achievement (2 hours)
Learn how to set and achieve realistic goals. This module guides you in creating clear action plans, staying accountable, and building the discipline to complete your apprenticeship and pursue future career aspirations with clarity and confidence.

💡 Design Thinking (2 hours)
Gain hands-on experience with problem-solving methods used by innovators and industry leaders. You’ll learn to approach workplace challenges creatively, test ideas effectively, and deliver solutions that add value, boost innovation, and strengthen your role within any team.

💪 Confidence & Communication (2 hours)
Build self-belief and clear communication skills to present yourself professionally. Learn active listening, expressing ideas with confidence, and forming strong workplace relationships.

🌟 Leadership (2 hours)
Step into leadership roles with confidence. Learn how to guide others, take initiative, and model behaviours that create a positive and productive team culture.

💵 Financial Literacy (2 hours)
Gain money management skills for a secure future. This module covers budgeting, income management, superannuation basics, and planning for essential purchases such as tools or a vehicle.

🚀 Entrepreneurship (6 hours)
Discover how trade skills can form the base of your own business. Learn the essentials of planning, customer service, marketing, and pricing to build a sustainable enterprise.

🤖 Introduction to AI (2 hours)
Get a practical overview of Artificial Intelligence in the trades. See how AI supports tools, safety, and business operations, while reinforcing the human skills that remain essential.
