Uniting for a Cause
Walk Festival 2025, running from April 12–13, is more than just an event—it’s a movement for mental health awareness, physical activity, and community connection.
Designed for all ages and fitness levels, participants can join in themed walks catering to families, fitness enthusiasts, businesses, and local organisations. The festival will provide an engaging and inclusive experience, ensuring that everyone can take part in supporting this important cause.
All proceeds from Walk Festival 2025 will directly support BREED Australia’s youth mental health programs across Western Sydney, addressing the increasing challenges of anxiety, depression, and social isolation among young people.
A City That Cares
Mayor Brad Bunting expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative, stating:
“Blacktown is proud to host Walk Festival 2025, bringing our community together for a cause that truly matters. This festival not only highlights the importance of mental health but also showcases the strength and unity of our city. We are proud to lead the way in Western Sydney.”
Melissa Wu Champions the Cause
Walk Festival Ambassador Melissa Wu, a five-time Australian Olympian and Olympic medallist, emphasised the importance of the event’s mission:
“As an athlete, I’ve experienced firsthand how staying active can positively impact both physical and mental well-being. Walk Festival is a beautiful way to unite people, encourage movement, and support an incredible cause. I’m honoured to be part of an initiative that promotes healthier lifestyles and provides hope and help to young people in need.”
Why Walk Festival Matters
