Empowering Youth with BREED’s Learning for Good Programs

At BREED, we believe in the power of mindset, opportunity, and connection—and our ongoing partnership with CathWest Innovation College is a perfect example of that belief in action.

Recently, we were thrilled to be part of CathWest’s Year 10 Inquiry Program, where students had the chance to explore a variety of career paths including interior design, videography, disability services, and hospitality. These interactive sessions are all about providing students with hands-on experiences and real-world insight to help shape their future choices.

As part of our Youth Learning for Good Programs, BREED delivered a workshop focused on Emotional Intelligence in the workplace—an essential life skill that helps young people better understand themselves, communicate effectively, and navigate future careers with confidence and empathy.

One of the highlights of the day was seeing the students connect with participants from NorthWest Disability Services, reinforcing the importance of inclusion, empathy, and community connection. These shared moments highlight what true learning is all about—developing both the mind and the heart.

We’re incredibly proud to be working alongside forward-thinking educators like CathWest Innovation College, who understand the value of developing future-ready skills and creating meaningful experiences for their students.

BREED is committed to supporting young people through programs that build resilience, career readiness, and emotional wellbeing. Thanks again to CathWest for believing in the power of mindset transformation and for supporting the next generation of changemakers.

Acknowledgement

We acknowledge that BREED is located on the lands of the Darug Peoples and pay our respects to Darug Elders past, present, and emerging. We also acknowledge that Western Sydney is a former resettlement area, and many Aboriginal families call Western Sydney home, some for many years across generations, and for some, more recently. We pay our respects to our Elders and community leaders for their past and ongoing commitment to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community in Western Sydney
