BREED Australia and CathWest Innovation College Join Forces to Empower Western Sydney’s Youth

BREED Australia is excited to announce our recent collaboration with CathWest Innovation College, a unique educational institution focused on equipping young people with the skills and confidence to drive their own success. CathWest has campuses in two convenient locations across Western Sydney and offers a range of learning pathways designed to empower students with hands-on experience and personalised learning journeys. Together with CathWest, we aim to create more opportunities for young people in our community and inspire them to pursue their passions with confidence.

Our partnership took off with an incredible event—WEXPO Student Edition—hosted at CathWest Innovation College on November 4th. The expo, a premier youth-oriented event in Western Sydney, gave students, parents, and the local community a day filled with insights, motivation, and connection. We were privileged to welcome Blacktown’s own Olympic diving star, Melissa Wu, and her brother, champion weightlifter Josh Wu, as keynote speakers. Melissa shared her powerful story of resilience, ambition, and the mindset required to succeed at the highest levels, while Josh joined her for an interactive session on building both physical and mental strength. The event was supported by Stephen Bali MP and sponsored by ACU Blacktown.

A New Focus for WEXPO: Inspiring Students and Aspiring Entrepreneurs

WEXPO, now in its third year, has evolved into a key platform for addressing issues relevant to Western Sydney, including health, education, and career opportunities. For the first time, WEXPO has introduced a Student Edition that brings the event directly to schools in the Blacktown area. This new initiative aims to deliver inspiration and guidance straight to students, empowering them to take charge of their futures. Each WEXPO Student Edition event features speakers from diverse fields, offering motivational presentations around self-improvement, success, and resilience.

The recent WEXPO Student Edition at CathWest was a memorable launch, and we look forward to future events that will continue to inspire the youth of Western Sydney.

Introducing WEXPO Academy: Education and Mentorship for Aspiring Entrepreneurs

BREED Australia and WEXPO are also proud to launch the WEXPO Academy, a suite of educational programs designed to support aspiring entrepreneurs and early-stage SMEs. Through this initiative, we provide a platform for individuals to gain knowledge, develop skills, and build the confidence needed to start and grow successful businesses.

Our workshops cover a range of essential topics, including digital marketing, financial management, leadership, strategy, project management, and grant writing. The WEXPO Academy also offers the 10-week Aspiring Entrepreneur Transformation Program, a flagship course under BREED Learning for Good, designed to provide participants with not only practical skills but also long-term mentorship and guidance.

Moving Forward Together

At BREED Australia, we are dedicated to creating lasting impact through community engagement and education. Our collaboration with CathWest Innovation College, WEXPO, and WEXPO Academy marks a significant step forward in supporting the next generation of leaders and innovators in Western Sydney. We believe in the potential of our young people and look forward to continuing our journey together to build a brighter future for all.

Acknowledgement

We acknowledge that BREED is located on the lands of the Darug Peoples and pay our respects to Darug Elders past, present, and emerging. We also acknowledge that Western Sydney is a former resettlement area, and many Aboriginal families call Western Sydney home, some for many years across generations, and for some, more recently. We pay our respects to our Elders and community leaders for their past and ongoing commitment to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community in Western Sydney
