Charlotte’s Wish Scholarship
The scholarship is a fully funded 12-month early support program for Year 6 to Year 8 students in the Canterbury Bankstown Local Government Area (LGA).
It is delivered by BREED Australia Inc at no cost to selected families thanks to the support of the Step into Action Foundation.
Supporting young people before challenges become overwhelming.
The transition into high school and early adolescence can bring new social dynamics, increased expectations and changes in friendship groups. For some young people, this period can feel uncertain or unsettling.
The Charlotte’s Wish Scholarship provides structured early wellbeing support beyond the classroom for students who may be finding aspects of this stage challenging socially, emotionally or in building confidence.
Participants engage in a coordinated, year-long experience designed to strengthen resilience, connection and practical coping skills during this important stage of development.

The benefit for selected participants
During early adolescence, identity, confidence and belonging are still forming. Through consistent mentoring and guided small group engagement, participants strengthen emotional awareness, resilience and self-belief. They learn to recognise their strengths, manage challenges constructively and build healthy peer relationships.
Importantly, the Scholarship also supports young people to begin exploring their interests, passions and emerging sense of purpose. By helping participants identify what energises them and where their strengths lie, the program encourages agency and forward thinking during a critical stage of development.
Surrounded by trusted adults and a supportive cohort, students build connection and confidence while developing practical tools to navigate social complexity. By strengthening these internal foundations early, participants are better equipped not only to handle immediate challenges, but to move forward with clarity, confidence and direction.
